ROTHWELL PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the Meeting held at Rothwell Village Hall on Tuesday 16th July 2019 at 7:30pm.
Present: S. Davey, I. Kireia, C. Dale, R. Thomas.
1. APOLOGIES: Cllrs Milne, Plaskitt and Emms.
2) DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST: None.
3) MINUTES OF MEETING OF 14th MAY 2018: Signed as a true record.
4) CHAIRMAN & COUNCIL’S COMMENTS: None.
5) CLERK'S REPORT ON OUTSTANDING MATTERS: Poor state of Cuxwold and
Croxby Roads had again been reported and these have now been repaired by
highways albeit not to a great standard. The additional dog bin has been installed by
West Lindsey.
6) FINANCE: ACCOUNTS FOR PAYMENT: H. Pitman: £223.06 LALC:
£Resolved to pay. The chairman to contact business banking to
add Cllrs Dale and Thomas as signatories and remove those who are no longer
councillors. The clerk confirmed that the external auditor has accepted the Certificate
of Exemption and that the audit is now complete. Accounts and all audit paperwork are
on the website for viewing.
7) PLANNING APPLICATIONS: None
8) None.
9) TO DISCUSS & RESOLVE ON PURCHASE OF A RECYCLED BENCH: Councillors
agreed to pursue and that the clerk request permission from Nickerson Trust.
10) TO DISCUSS NEED FOR FOOTWAY ON BECKSIDE: Council discussed
correspondence between the clerk and Mr Miller, LCC, following request from Cllr Dale
that this be revisited. The clerk to approach Merton College as land owners. Also to request
"Slow" markings are renewed and additional signage warning drivers of pedestrians.
11) TO DISCUSS PURCHASE OF A VILLAGE CHRISTMAS TREE: Following approach by
Cllr Dale the Blacksmiths Arms has agreed to provide electricity. Original site suggested is
highways verge and not suitable so a further approach will be made regarding siting in the
pub car park. Clerk to approach Nickerson Charitable Foundation if willing to supply a tree.
