Walks from or near Rothwell

A view of the countryside on the outskirts of the village
A pleasant stroll near the village

Rothwell sits in a valley of the Wolds alongside Nettleton Beck. Rothwell Top sits on the crest of the wolds, solid and brick-built round its farmyard.

Nearby, on the Viking Way, is a series of arched tunnel mouths, now filled in with bricks, which are a legacy of the thriving ironstone mining industry. .
