Annual Parish Meeting 2026
The ANNUAL ROTHWELL PARISH MEETING
held on Tuesday 12th May 2026 at 7.00 p.m. in the Village Hall
Draft Minutes
Present: Cllrs Davey, Raftery, Emms, Colebrook, Dale, Blow, Bankes-Price, and D Beer (Parish Clerk). No other parishioners attended.
1. To approve and sign draft minutes of the previous meeting held 13th May 2025. The minutes were approved and duly signed.
2. To receive the Chairman’s report on Village activities and events during the past year.
- A donation was made to the Blacksmith’s Arms towards the purchase of Christmas tree for the village.
- Using CIL money the churchyard has been tidied, including tree work to allow better access on the path
- Gov.uk addresses were set up for all Councillors to align with new regulations
- In May the volunteers from Highways cleared the pavements and pathways of moss, and tidied up the area behind the hall.
- The ongoing issue of the drainage on Beckside was escalated to County and District Councillors and Sir Edward Leigh.
3. To receive a report on current Parish Council matters and finances from the Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer.
- Parking was still a problem on Wold View and the clerk had delivered letters to all residents asking for co-operation. ACIS and LCC Highways had also been contacted.
- A free bag of salt was delivered to the village and is stored behind the village hall.
- Finance – the precept for the new financial year was set at £4337.
- There was no major expenditure from Parish Council funds in 25/26.
- Balance in accounts at year end is £6084.57
